Mac's Ruffian Manicures, Yay or Nay?

I've heard a lot of ranting with Mac's new Ruffian Manicures lately because consumers are saying they are not tasteful and look cheap, i guess it's due to the fact that they are press ons. They're everywhere and in my opinion pretty sufficient. I personally have not tried any press ons during my "adult" years but I'm very interested in the Ruffian manicures. I've had plenty of failed attempts at the nail salon trying to get the half moon mani's and the mini stiletto nails. Well, the stiletto nails weren't a total FAIL but it is definitely a trend that gets sickening to the eye very quickly, so this is where I believe these press ons can come to play! They are temporary and fun. What do you girls think, yay or nay?

What's In My Bag Tag

Hey there ladies,

So I was recently going through my blogger subscribers and ran across a "what's in my bag tag post". It sort of inspired me to post one of my own and being that I had some free time at work  it was perfect timing. I've seen plenty of posts with this tag but I was never really intrigued to do my own until now so thanx http://beautyandthecheap.blogspot.com/, enjoy =)

May Favorites ♥

Benefit Gilded Eyeliner (tangerine gold highlighter)
I LOVE.. I repeat LOVE this for my inner corner tear duct area and since I've been tanned lately it looks great. It can be worn for both day and night looks, I prefer to wear it for when i want that bronzey look (which has been every day for weeks now lol) . It can also be used like a primer to give that extra pop of color on the eye lid.

MAC's Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Asian Flower
This Lipstick is my favorite lipstick ever hands down! She is my soul mate ha ha! I have no idea how to explain this product except that you need it, fa real! It has this smooth texture with lots of pigment and is the perfect color for all year round. Compliments so many skin tones and there is no need for mixing. Usually when I apply (& I'm sure I'm not the only one) a lipstick I have to apply a lip balm or some sort of gloss so it wont look too cakey or dry but there is no need for it with this lipstick..You just throw it on and go SIGH, love...that is all.

Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia
oh my bajesus... How did I make it in life without this perfume? I'm soon going to do a collective perfume post so you can see the various perfumes and scents to my liking. Then maybe you'll get a wif as to why I am obsessed with this fragrance. I wear it about 6 out of 7 days, no lie & I'm a little timid that I might finish it up way too fast that's why I cut one day out of the week ha ha. It's one of those scents that you just cant stop sniffing, perfect for summer. It's like Summer in a bottle =P.

MAC's Arena Eyeshadow
It's a satin eyeshadow with a soft gold peach with pearl tone. I've been using this religiously for an all over the eye lid color for all those lazy days (practically everyday ha ha). It's great for when you're on the go and don't have time to squeeze in your makeup. It's definitely a color that has been neglected in my palette that I'm glad I came across again.

Benefit's Hoola Bronzer
I love this bronzer! Although, that is a horrible swatch down below due to my major tan it is way more pigmented on the face I promise lol. I love the matte finish and I like the fact that it is very build-able and easy to blend.

MAC's Bubble Lounge Lipgelee
Sigh... I really don't know what I'm going to do when i hit pan on this product. It's a limited edition product so I might go searching some CCO's to see if I can get my hands on some backups. This is a great gloss for all year round and looks great over lipsticks.

MAC's Hanging Loose Mineralize Blush (In the Groove Collection LE)
This is a satin bright pink and pearly lavender tone.I've had this blush for awhile and never gave it potential until now. It's definitely been one of my everyday blushes this month. Looks great for summer and you don't even need to apply a highlight, kinda kills two birds with one stone.

Urban Decay Tinted Moisturizer
This was purchased during one of their big sales so I decided to try it out since I'm a fan of tinted moisturizers but it was a little too dark for my complexion; it's perfect now though. I've heard a lot of rants about it being streaky and I find that it works better just by using your fingers. It's not full coverage but I like that for the Summer.

Overrated products

Hey Ladies I'm sure we have all believed the hype when it came to beauty products because of raves, limited edition products, exclusives and cute packaging (BTW I'm a sucker for cute packaging). I'm still trying to overcome such an addictive but fun problem. You never want to feel like you've missed out on something, right? I know I know.. This post may have a bit of ranting but it's just to share some insight of my opinions, AGAIN my "opinions"! Maybe certain products in this post have worked for you but they sure as heck have not for me & here is why:

  • MAC's lipglass - What was I thinking? The color payoff is great and all but the stickiness is not wassup! It leaves almost a residue feeling and after a while of wearing it it looks gross. Some are more wearable then others but i'll stick to my cremesheens now.
  • Biore Strips - This purchase is definitely overrated! i saw absolutely no difference nor was there any blackheads on the strip after removal. It's not worth the pain of pulling that sucker off. I found better results heating a washcloth up, placing it on my nose and squeezing.
  • Moroccan Argan Oil Reconstructive Mask- I gave a defined review about this product on a previous post but also decided to continue using it to see if I had a change of heart and ummm I don't. It still leaves a long drying time, rough texture and removes hair color. Not impressed!
  • Sonia Kashuk Bent Eyeliner Brush - SIGH.. I really really tried to love this brush due to the fact that the reviews are insanely great but it's like the brush is not stiff enough for a thin defined line. I find that angled flat brushes tend to work better for me.
  • EOS Lip Balm - This item is definitely a looker. I'm sure most buyers purchased this product because of the egg packaging. Well, it does nothing for me. After having it on for about an hour I feel the need to exfoliate my lips. It builds like this second layer of god knows what and I am not a fan of that feeling.

FIVE cosmetic items I couldn't live w/out this Summer

Hey there Bloggettes,

I know you've seen a similar Tag going around on YouTube but since I am not committed to certain products all year round I threw in the seasonal part in the title ha-ha. I would love it if some of you would join in on this Tag, it's a great way to find out about new and different products. Enjoy Luvies xoxo!

  1. MAC fix plus (gives that natural look after your makeup is applied, perfect for Summer)
  2. MAC cremesheen (any cremesheen is perfect for Summer, adds moisture & a tint of color)
  3. Diorshow blackout mascara (this right here is my holy grail, who needs falsies with this product?!)
  4. Maybelline's instant age-renewing (I've never been a concealer person because i rarely get under eye circles but with a nice tan this is perfect. It's a great highlight and adds that I'm awake face in an instant. i was a Lil undecided between this or bronzer but this makes you look like you have both =D)
  5. MAC tinted moisturizer (Now i am aware that this doesn't give full coverage so I'm sure not everyone will agree with me on this one but for me it evens out my skin & adds a lil color. I like the consistency of it, it's not greasy and it's easy to apply for when you're on the go)
